Peek Backstage Shows What Makes Oprah Great

For PR people, seeing their client on the Oprah show is like reaching the holy grail of publicity. Wordsworth recently had an opportunity to sit down with one of Oprah's guests who, while not a client of the agency at the time, offered a unique glimpse backstage.  The guest was author, activist and former Haitian child slave Jean-Robert Cadet.  And what he learned during his trip to Chicago for Oprah taping will be fascinating to PR types of every stripe.

Are Tradeshows Worth It?According to a recent article in Trade Show Week, the number of people attending trade shows is down, while the number of people exhibiting is up.  On the surface that looks like more exhibitors competing to convert fewer prospects.

Everyone's All a Twitter

WLWT Dualsmall.jpgTwitter has been in the news a lot lately and Wordsworth's Social Media Group has been a "go to" source for reporters.  News stories have focused on what Twitter is and how companies are using it.  Besides being invited to address members of the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce on the subject, Wordsworth's social media specialist Shannan Boyer was recently featured in a news segment on NBC affiliate WLWT-TV regarding how businesses can leverage Twitter to enhance their marketing efforts.

Speaking of Good PR

dscn1061 Cut Out.jpgWordsworth Account Supervisor Laura Deaton Morarity is the featured speaker at the May 21 meeting of the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS).

Fresh from addressing Leadership Northern Kentucky on the topic of media relations, the theme of Morarity's presentation to SMPS will be Social Media 101.

Her PR account experience includes serving national marketers such as Procter & Gamble, Sunny D and Ronzoni Pasta. The meeting will be held at Cincinnati's iconic ribs restaurant, The Montgomery Inn.

Wordsworth turns 20!In honor of Wordsworth turning 20 this year, Cincinnati Regional Chamber president Ellen van der Horst presented the agency with a certificate commemorating the milestone. Also this month Wordsworth was named to the Top 25 List of Who's Who in Advertising, PR and Design as complied by the Business Courier.
